Last night when my wife and I made a trip to Walmart off of Aero I was lucky enough to be involved in a hit n run. My car was hit and was witnessed by a couple who attempted to stop the woman driving the vehicle but were unsuccessful. However, they did happened to get a description of the vehicle and also obtained the license plate number.

After talking to the police it seems like I may be SOL but he said he was going to try and track the vehicle down that same night because he had nothing better to do.

I also have the witnesses name and phone number just in case I need them in the future.

I would like to take matters in to my own hands but I need someone to look up the license plate number for me. If there is anyone out there that can assist me I would greatly appreciate it!

Also, because I have their license plate number I feel that they need to be tracked down so justice can be served. I don't want to have to pay to fix something that wasn't my own doing.:notgood:

If you have uninsured motorist insurance you won't have to pay a dime...

I think I do have that in my policy but even if I do, I don't want MY insurance to have to pay for anything if I can find out who did it.

I thought there was still a deductible that had to be paid in the event that the other motorist doesn't have insurance.

Looking at at a screen shot of my insurance policy you can see what seems like I don't have Uninsured motorist property damage coverage on my 300. Atleast that's what it looks like to me. I've never read the policy breakdown before so I'm not 100% on this. Anyone care to share some incite?

We weren't around when it happened. We were in the store and my Son was playing with some toys when it happened and are were fortunate enough that a married couple saw it happen and tried to get her to stop but were atleast able to get the license plate number and a make and model of the vehicle.

But yes, we're both fine :p

My Mazdaspeed6 was kind of in the same situation about a year ago. It was parked, I was shopping, I came out and saw someone had backed into it. All kinds of damage.

I told my insurance company (I didnt have uninsured motorist coverage at the time either) and they said since it wasn't my fault, they would fix it, but I would still need to pay my deductible. They got an estimate, cut me a check, and I just fixed it myself instead of having to pay my deductible for a shop to fix it.

on your insurance it shows you are paying an uninsured motorist collision deductable waiver fee, which in my dimly lit mind means you won't be charged the deductable fee when you file a claim. Regardless of whether you find this woman or not your insurance company will pay out your claim since it wasn't your fault.

Thank you sir! I have since then talk to USAA and they explained that the repair would be at no cost to me.

The perpitrators vehicle has also been found and towed. It's only a matter of time before the owner tries to pick it up.

My witness also spoke to the cop involved with my situation and I was told by the policeman that the description matches that of what he has on file for the registered owner.

I just need to know if they do or do not have insurance. Either way, I wont have to pay a dime, which is nice!:thumb:
