top gear usa

I think the reason it sucks so much is because they're trying to take many years of developed jokes and puns from the UK crew and thinking they'll apply here with different people.

1st of all, haters gonna hate.

seriously, your comparing a remake of a tv show to the original, established, well trained veterened show. Watch season 1 of top gear uk and compare that to season 1 of top gear us.

2nd, fine, lets get top gear usa cancelled so we can all go back to watching quality shows like jersey shore and that one where they all live in the house together even though they shouldn't. (see every show on mtv)

Why are you guys complaining that there is a show on television aimed at us? Seriously.

The tickets are free. They just emailed me saying each person can bring up to 1 guest, meaning technically I have 3 spare tickets, but again can't give anyone a ride. I'd like to see other dsm'ers there but if your going to complain I'd rather you not come. I'm looking to have a fun time watching some automotive programming.

This thread is about meeting up to see top gear usa being taped, I'd like to ask the mods to make sure it stays on topic. Also there are other dates/times besides when I'm going so if you can't make it to monday at 2pm you can try and get on the waitlist for other times.

I'll be leaving at around 11am to make sure I find it on time etc.

I'd be there for sure if i were in the area.

As far as the show goes, i just dont like hosts. They're not funny and kind of awkward. Almost painful to watch them try to interact sometimes.

I'm not hating...just saying make the US version it's own premise. It's suppose to be a show about cars. Over time the hosts of the UK had developed inside jokes and reputations. When they made the US version, the producers just assumed they could assign the little quirks from each UK host to a US one.

There's nothing wrong with copying a show, but make it it's own show. The office was a stolen idea, and it was hugely successful, in part to them taking the basic principle and doing their own thing with it.

agreed, however, this is the real world. The history channel didn't pay for the rights to a show which has a small following which builds up over the course of 17 seasons, they wanted results NOW. the only way the producers of top gear knew how to get these results was this way. in a perfect world people would realize that these things take time, but we don't live in a perfect world.

while a agree with what you said at first, you should realize that what you said here was possibly the worlds worst argument ever.

The U.K Office vs The U.S Office - YouTube

the office uk and us used the EXACT SAME script for most of their first episodes. I have no idea how thats taking the basic principles and doing their own thing. I'd say thats about as exactly opposite as you can get.

show biz = fake. get used to it.
