Where to get turbo rebuilt

Forced performance's rebuild kit, 14b should be selected when you first open it. for 100 bucks, I think you should do your reading, take your time, and rebuild it yourself, I learned a lot when My friend and I re-built his turbo. Some things are just easier to pay someone else to do, but you will get a lot more out of doing this one yourself. Heres the link to the kit:

And heres your very in depth HOW-TO.

Or, for $50 more, you can leave it in the hands of someone experienced in the field. :p

....and, should you still decide to tackle it yourself, you can read this even more in-depth HOW-TO with better pictures, using a 14B as an example:

Yeah, or you could spend 150 dollars on a 14b. Either way, you could talk to the guy reccomended and have it done, or go with either how-to guide, both of which have good info. Either way, good luck.

Thanks for the info guys I think I am going to rebuild it myself as opposed to buying a used one so that I know it is good. My only question about the rebuild is what does it mean when it says scribing the shaft and do I need to do it.

If there are no balance grinds on the compressor locknut, the turbo is component-balanced. If there are balance grinds on the locknut, you should mark the alignment of the nut to the wheel so the whole assembly will match one the turbo is reassembled. Failure to do so can put the overall balance of the unit at risk.

If you cannot identify whether your locknut has balance grinds or not, you probably should not be attempting to rebuild your own turbo.

Good luck ;) let us know how it turns out when you get it finished!

Just send the turbo to Justin and ensure your peace of mind.
