Ok let me start by saying that I cannot datalog anything from my car. I got a brand new datalogger but It will not log. My question is do I have a burnt up ecu or a bad connection? I also have a very crappy idle it idles like if it has cams. Now my car use to idle alot better but it all started after I swaped out my upper intercooler piping for a hard 2.5 pipe, and a non turbo throttle body. I though my idle was caused by a boost leaks but even after I fix them it still didnt seem to idle a hole lot better. Now this is the reason why I think I could have a bad ecu. When I was installing my upper intercooler pipe I forgot to disconnect my battery so I accidentaly grounded my positive side of my battery with my intercooler pipe that was touching my transmission. It spark for a good second :ohdamn: could that cause my ecu to go bye bye? I also tried pulling a check engine code with a code scanner but it could not connect to my ecu? So should I try to put in another ecu or is there a way to check if I have a shorted wire or a loose connetion at my diagnosctic port goint to my ecu?? Oh bye the way my car is a 92 mitsubishi eclipse gs-t. I would appreciate any ideas, answers or questions Thank you!!!

You may have fried a connection in the harness. ECUs dont usually go as easy as everyone thinks. If you have a good scanner or access to all data (Library) you can pull up a pinpoint test to see narrow down the source of the non comunication. There are usually "jumpers" somewhere that connect the ABS, airbags and all to the ECU through the same datalink. Can you communicate with any of the other systems or just the ECU? Try communicating with PCM and ABS. This will help narrow it down too.

For what its worth...

So I checked my fuses they are all good, I also had an extra ecu wich is a eprom but I still got the same results. I cannot check my codes or data and I dont have abs so I cant check that either. So im pretty much stuck up to this point! I dont know what else to check for:confused: If any one can help plese help me out.
