title says it all. yes i know there is a upgrade path on this site but i feel like it is for drag racing. if some of you guys dont know my car is 99% stock. only thing is a straight piped full exhaust system(2 high flow cats) a performance clutch, and a after market air intake.

also if you dont know im getting new suspension soon. so that out of the way i want to know what you guys did to make your car a little faster. i went to try and push around 250~300 (maybe 350) HP (also want to keep the engine as stock as possible while getting that HP) i was thinking of removing my back seats because no one can fit in the back. adding a roll cage and such. for rims i want to aim for 14-18lbs (hope to get them next summer)

it might take awhile to achieve my goal for this car (2-3 years since im only 18 and shoprite isent the best paying job) if you guys want some more info just tell me.

Well if your on a tight budget you could always put in a used 14b. Pretty decent upgrade from a t25 and it would be really cheap.
And why the hell would you put in a roll cage?

One of the first things to think about before buying anything is deciding what you would like to do with the car…what direction would you like to go with it. It sounds like you are not leaning toward drag racing or you would not have posted here...;)

Of course the very first thing you should think about spending your money on is getting all of the maintenance up to date on the car… all the boring stuff like fluids, filters, belts, hoses, ball joints ect… these things should be done for sure before you start driving the car hard or pretty soon you will be posting about making repairs and hating your DSM… :ohdamn:

What I mean by asking what you want to do with the car is that there is a pretty good split when upgrading right from the very beginning… if you want to go faster at an autocross / road course for example, the path for improvement is something like: 1) Driver 2) Tires 3) Suspension 4) Power...

For improving performance on the street/strip then Power is the very near the top of the list after maintenance… Boost gauge / boost controller being some of the first purchases… just start slow and decide what you want out of your car before jumping into anything… (a roll cage is just about the last stage before becoming a full blow race car)

Just some things to think about as you get started.

Good Luck!

The upgrade paths say what they are for. There is a road racing upgrade path as well. I'm assuming you are talking about the basic hp upgrade path though. Of course it's going to mention things that add power because that's what it's for. It gives recommendations of other modifications at the bottom for each stage as well, but that's not really what the "basic hp upgrade path" is about. If you're following that and want a better handling car, then you have to choose when you want a better suspension system instead of more power. The upgrade path can't tell you exactly what you should buy and exactly when you should buy it.
