So I was looking at the rules on the RTA site, and i was thinking about the stock class. Now the rule states as follows

Upgrading the OEM turbo is permitted, so long as the turbo is "stock appearing" and/or using a "stock sized" housing.

now as a 2G am i limited to a t25 or like a T28, cause now i have a 14b but because of the J pipe it isnt stock appearing on a 2g. Maybe im interpretting the rules wrong i guess im not sure, but it would be nice to know what turbos ill be able to run with a 2g, what others are running in the stock class (if anyone is even running that) or ill just move up to the street class or modified and run that.

Since it was available on a different model I am pretty sure you can use any turbo that came on an eclipse/talon/laser. Even further, I believe we can use any turbo with the TD05H compressor housing because it is "stock appearing". The new FP DSM68 HTA would be my 1st choice if this is the case. What a sweet turbo that is.

I have an Evo3 16g which has had a 90* elbow welded onto the compressor housing outlet, and the housing has been rotated about 180*. This puts the outlet in the location of the stock T25 outlet, and to the untrained eye the turbo looks totally stock. I use hard pipes designed for the T25, using no j-pipe, which adds to the illusion.
 
The inspectors at RTA events are not the slack jawed yokels you'll find at the local strip. They know what to look for ESPECIALLY for stock class participants. 16g's are within the rules because the 14b and 16g share the same TD05 compressor housings, hence the term "stock appearing". You could even get away with running a 20g with the smaller TD05 comp housing. I know the 2g came with a t25 but, I'm almost 100% that you can use a turbo or any subsequent part from any year eclipse/talon/laser as long as it doesn't become driveline change; no becoming AWD from FWD.

Well i was looking at the forums the other day, and it looks like the "stock appearing" rule is gonna be changed, and you will only be able to use a stock turbo from what it sounds like. I wonder if they would let me keep the 14b since it came off a 1G anyway. might be something to look into
 
I stand corrected. This taken from the new 2010 RTA "Sportsman" Class, formerly Stock Class:
2.2.2 - Upgrading the OEM turbo is NOT permitted. Cars that are turbocharged from the factory must retain the OEM turbocharger. Modifying, porting, polishing, enhancing or optimizing the OEM turbo is NOT permitted. Replcaing the OEM turbo is NOT permitted. Changing the orientation of the OEM turbo is NOT permitted (rotating, etc.).

2.2.3 - For vehicles with factory forced induction, these parts must remain OEM stock: Intake Manifold, Camshafts, Cylinder Heads, Pistons, Rods, Valves, Exhaust Manifolds, entire Turbo assembly, entire Supercharger assembly. installation of Cold Air Intakes, high flow filters, aftermarket Mass Air Flow Sensors/MAP Sensors, throttle bodies, down pipes, cross pipes, high flow cats and exhaust systems are permitted.
