hi,
Im hoping that someone has a little bit of input on this one. I have been trying to figure this out for a week now. It all started when i had to change my Thottle body because of leaking shaft seals. I changed it and beacause my car always vaccumed at like 14-15 with no other leaks. Once i changed the Tb i decided that i would remove the emissions just incase there was any more leaks in any of those hoses. I removed the EGR, canister and all attaching valves, and installed a egr block off plate. When i went to go start my car, now it wont start. I turn the key i hear the fuel pump go on and the ecu and my safc and tt and all accessories go on but not the engine. IT doesnt even crank. I dont hear any click coming from the starter or the starter solonoid like i think i should. I mean no clicks at all. The car always started fine before this i can figure it out. I check alot of stuff what could it be. Oh and it is not the battery. I charged and used the 200amp engine start feature. Battery is fine. Someone pleaase help the next step is the TOW...

Thanks

SCott

I appreciate you answering me. That was the first thing i did. I took the battery out again and went through every single connector in the engine bay. There is nothing loose. I also checked all fuses but again they are all good. The only other thing i did when the car was down was connect my front dash speakers to my deck. But that really has nothing to do with the car starting. I ran my own wires so i never cut anythign else. Well thanks for the help if you have any other suggestions let me know.

Thanks
scott

Check the starter wires. One is battery cable(shouldnt be a problem with that if car is well maintained), the other is the small wire that goes from ignition switch to starter solenoid. This is probably the problem if there are no blown fuses. Check continuity from switch to starter. This wire got brittle on my old car and broke inside the harness. Also, check voltage from this wire at the starter while someone trys to crank it. it should be a full 12 v while ignition switch is engaged. If no voltage or very low, star tracing the wire and you will find the problem. Good luck

thanks ill check that this weekend....quick question though.....exactly where is the starter and how do i access it and where is the ignition switch and the starter solinoid.....if anyone knows id appreciate it....especially if you can send me a link or something with pics?

Thanks
SCott

starter's behind the engine, above the tranny, pretty much where the engine hooks up to the tranny. kind of below the tb.
you should see/feel one decent wire going to it that splits into 2, i think.
(i never knew where it was exactly until i put a new engine in)
