question about spark plugs

i changed my sparkplugs today and when i took the old ones out
i noticed that the hook on the end of the plug it looked covered in white ash like it had been badly burned is it just becuase they were probably in there for way too long. And i changed them out for some Bosch Platinum +4. i noticed a big difference not power wise but acceleration wise.

White ash means lean

After changing to new plugs (from ones like you stated), you *should* notice a better idle, stronger power band(the car feels more solid overall), and better overall engine performance.

dont use those platinum 4's man, their junk for turbo car's (my personal experinces with them) personally i recomend the NGK vpower's, can't go wrong with a set of them

Before I get yelled at, let me correct myself. White, blistered looking plugs are lean.. Ash (should be light brownish) is from oil deposits / gas additives forming on the plug.

Lean is definately white, blisters (should not be ash)

eather way it still sucks tho i dunno, im weird i change my plugs n wires every month 1/2 with oil/oil filter, can never be to careful

yeah well i haven't had any problems with them and my car feels stronger than before
