1991 eagle talom TSI has a idle problem......
in nuetral or with the clutch in in goes from 1100 rpm to 1400 back in forth...

Is this the MAS????? going bad

Welcome to the idlesurge club hahahaha I got the same thing..still working on it.

Here, do all these tests from this link. Hopefully you can pinpoint it with one of these, or if you're like me, you will go thru, have everything look A-OK and still have the surge. So now im onto sensors and trying to figure out what the ECU also checks for idle...

I know a hacked MAF is also a possibility, my friend hacked his and had a bad idle afterwards...

Either vacuum leaks, or bad ISC motor. Usually the ISC wins.

Turned out the idle adjustment screw backed out on me.
