Hey all..

My factory boost gauge is very very very sluggish.. it takes forver to read anything.. Sometimes it will be very responsive like all other talons ive ridden in, but for the most part it moves like a snail.. What would be causing it to move so slowly, and other times move like it should?

Please help me out here, im lost!

Jon

you need an aftermarket boost gauge, any one will work fine I think, just install it yourself in 10 minutes, it's pretty simple, just got mines in not 2 long ago.

I just bought one and a A/F gauge which i will be installing this weekend.. Its just sort of a pet peeve that everything work perfect.. sometimes it does and sometimes it doesnt.. just wondering why it doesnt..

There isn't really a "sender", the factory boost gauge extrapolates values from airflow, RPM, throttle setting and who knows what all else. It's just guessing. That it guesses so well is how we get robots to drive around on Mars and send back travelogues; that yours doesn't is why the rover's kinda "lost".

Has your car been equipped with indiglows or anything? Sounds like needle drag.

Well, it's electrically-driven, so perhaps there's a bit of bad contact on its specific connection on the back of the cluster, or the gauge is just dying. Not much to get the cluster out- you may want to pull it and take a look. It's not like you can break it much more.
