plate above the oil pan

I just finished installing taking out the balnce shafts and doing the bnerrings, put every thing back to gether and was getting ready to start it up, then I relised I forgot to put the plate back in thats in the oil pan on top. Is this needed? Do I need to rip every thing back apart again?

Yes, you want to keep that on. It is an oil control device.

The 1G baffle is much lower in the pan than you describe on your 95 - You may want to PM GTM or somebody - but obviously the prudent thing is to reinstall it - DAMN!

What a bi*** uh??? Well I just went ahead and did it last night, beter safe then sorry, but I would still liked to know how important that plate is and whats its purpose is.
