Seems like there arent any clear answers in the search. so here goes my problem.
car- 95 tsi 1g motor, 1g head, 2g turbo, only mods are in signiture.

Ok the car sometimes develops a stutter around 3000 rpms only when cruising on the highway, but eventually goes away after getting on and off the throttle

Problem 2, lately the car has started to die when coming to a stop. It starts right back up and it idles fine. It happened to me 2x today.

I know the car has a boost leak coming from a small crack in the intercooler. Is this the cause or is there something else Im missing. by the way I just replaced the alternator as well.

ok I think the stalling has to due with a bad speed sensor because I dont think my cruise control works either.

someone has to know about the stutter. It only happens when cruising. Ive heard that this might be a result of a computer flaw resullting in a random miss code?? does anyone know for sure. I need to know asap. please give me some insight on this

Seems like the same problem I'm having. I got a 1g motor also. Im crusing at 3k pms and it feels like I took my foot off the gas. Im cluelees as well and I know I need a new alt. but I dont know if thats the prob. Someone has to know.

If it helps at all I recently replaced my alternator. But I had to cause the car kept discharging batteries and was stallling. Those problems are now gone but I still have this stutter at least once a day.

Yea thanks. Im gettin it replaced hopefully at the end of this week. As for the stutter it might be a leak. Thats what I think I have, but I have all hard pipes. Maybe a coupling is coming off I dont know. Well find out.

So your stalling problem was just a dead battery/alternator? I have the same problem, but brand new alternator and battery didn't fix it.

well that turned out to be the problem with my car stalling all the time. I recently found out the answers to both of my questions. the car stalls out when coming to a stop as a result of a bad speed sensor which is located behind the speedometer. Its only a $40 sensor. The stutter at 3 grand is a result of my 6 bolt engine swap into my 2g. It is a random miss test which is done when certain conditions are met within the engine. To fix this I am going to install a potentiometer so that the computer will not run the random miss check. Hope this helps someone

Do you think a bad speed sensor would ever affect the idle when you're just sitting there? My car seems to stall sometimes even when I'm just sitting at a stop, not necessarily the moment the wheels stop spinning.

When the speed senor is bad, the rpms will drop pretty fast down to zero, sometimes it will bounce off other times it would just stall when coming to a stop. If your car just dies at idle then it is something else and not the speed sensor. Maybe a bad isc motor. try a search on that. good luck

Yeah, doesn't sound like it could be my speed sensor then. My ISC is brand new, think it could still be bad? It just flutters, it doesn't open like it should, even though its brand spanking new.
