where is the connection of the antenna located @?

i have a 97 gst with a powered antenna that went to crap on me, now i was going to mount an internal antenna but where is the connection from the receiver to the electric antenna is at so that i can connect my internal antenna??? I checked the receiver but the wire is leading somewhere in the rear. Before i start taking stuff apart i wanna know where the exact location of the connection is. On my RS it was right behind the receiver 6 inches away, but on the gst its somewhere...

i have the chiltons but its not really clear to me as to where it is

Do you mean for the power to the antenna, or the signal cable? Just unplug the factory antenna, and plug in your new one.

The power antenna has a line that comes off of it and connects into another line that runs up to your head unit. So . . . if that's the line you're looking for, it is underneath your interior panel on the drivers side in the trunk/hatch . . .
