car wont start .....having trouble.

Ok so i turn to you guys for some thoughts. My vaccum has been bad ever since i bought this car i did a leak test and found out my tb shaft seals were messed up. I got new tb and while i was changin it decided to remove emissions and install egr block off plate. I removed the evap canister ll the valves and put on the egr blockoff plate. Today i go to start the car and no good. The battery is about 11.6 volts. All my accessories work including safc and turbo timer. When i turn the key i hear the fuel pump pumping but nothing else. The car doesnt crank or nothing. The car started fine before this. It has been very cold here for the last week and the car has been sitting while i removed the emissions in my spare time. It has been in my garage but still cold. i would imagine that i am not getting spark but i have no idea. How can i check for spark and also if i didnt do any other thigns what would be the reason for no crank. Could the battery be at 11.6 volts but still not have enought amps or power to crank the motor. It is a optima red top. Also i have checked many connectors to make sure. MY car is a 97 gsx 5 spd. Im kinda stumped. Dont really know where to begin. Thanks

If you want to check for spark, pull the plugs out 1 by 1 and ground it. YOu should get a spark when the car is set on ignition 2. If there are no sparking present, check ur coil pack. Make sure they are firing. A big problem I had when I could start my car was the temp. sensor, but I was getting crank, it just wouldnt turn over.

Well obviously your car will never turn over with only 11.56 volts. My optima red top measures 12.22 volts with the car off. Last time it was below 12.00 volts, It wouldnt start the car. How are you going to check for spark if the engine wont spin over? Id try a battery charger first before I tried to trouble shoot a problem that probably doesnt exist.

When I had the problem with my sensor, My battery voltage was at 12.3 and I was still able to crank my car over.
