Im a newbie here but I know my car and how to work on it. First off, about a year ago, my car would not start one day. It wasnt getting fire, so I replaced the coil pack, plugs and wires. Still wouldnt start so I left it alone. Two days later, it started up and ran fine. Over a month, it got so bad that it would only start about 10% of the time. I parked the car for a much needed rebuild. Found that ecu had caps leaking which damaged the circuit board. I had the ecu repared, socketed, a new chip burned, and tested in a car by dsmchips.com I put the engine back in the car and kept all the stock parts intact for breakin and troubleshooting purposes if needed. Car started fine but had a miss so I turned the car off to look for problems. Never would restart afterwards. Now I have replaced ecu with a stock one out of a known good running 92 awd talon, replaced cas, transistor, injectors, fuel pump, fpr, another 3 differant coil packs and numerous other items like battery, plugs, wires. Now all the plugs are firing, great compression, getting fuel @ 43 psi, double checked and triple checked cam timing and timing belt, checked all grounds, replaced mas, and every other trouble shooting idea that I or anyone else has had. No trouble codes, and everything checks good so the car should crank and run. I am ready to pull the harness and look for broken or burnt wires and check continuity on all. Has anyone else had a problem like this? Can someone give me a heads up on what to do or anything else to check? Yes, I checked all fuses and electrical connections. I have spent a month chasing and replacing with no luck and its driving me crazy. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!! I want to drive my car once again. Thanks
Keith
PS car is a 92 talon tsi awd 2.0 turbo 5 spd, 100k, never been wrecked or modded, till now

up to this point, I have replaced the cam angle sensor, coil pack, transistor, ecu, mas, coolant temp sensor, fuel pump, injectors, filters(oil and air), plugs, wires, turbo, exhaust (thought exhaust or converter might be clogged), safc disconnected, turbo timer disconnected, ic is clean, no restriction in intake system, checked cam angle sensor phasing with timing light, plugs get fire when they are suppose to,checked compression 160 all 4, fuel pressure 43 psi, checked coil primary and secondary resistance, coil input voltage, cas input voltage, car should start. Im pulling my hair out. Let me make this a little clearer. Engine is new, body has 95,xxx miles. Car had ran 1 time since and it was missing, and hard to keep running. Wasnt rich, just seem to have 2 dead cylinders. also checked injector harness, injectors are firing.

I found the problem. Last night I checked compression again and now it was down to 120 on 3 cylinders and 95 on the fourth. I pulled the engine out and back apart to find rust at the bottom of the cylinders and rings beginning to stick(cause of lower compression) I started examining the fuel coming out of the tank and found about 3 gallons of water out of 7 fresh gallons of racing fuel. I went to my local shop where I purchased the fuel and they found their tank to be contaminated with h2o also. Hopefully they will help me with repacement costs from the damage caused. Everyone, keep this in mind and make sure you check your fuel first if you begin to have problems. I think mine had ignition problems to begin with but remedied that without knowing because I had bad fuel. Kept me chasing my tail. At least I can sleep easy knowing truly what was wrong. I should have it back together again next week hopefully. Wish me luck.

I am have the same trouble with my car. it seemed like the motor was not getting any spark. so i replaced the plugs and wires and still nothing. i was wondering about how much a coil pack would run me? another question i had is what effect would the coolant temp sensor have in this situation?
