Acouple weeks ago i posted saying that i had just bought a rnr 2.5 turbo back exhaust and that my car basically started running awful. Well i finally got the car to the point when i can drive it but i am not boosting hardly at all. The car will boost for a sec. or two then just start to flutter and bog right done. I have no other mods on the car except for the exhaust. I called rnr and they said i need a boost controller due to creeping. I was wondering if anyone else has any other ideas or if that should correct my problem. I have a intake ordered which will be here today and i also have upper and lower IC pipes with a greddy type s but i dont have them on the car right now. Yesterday i ordered the controller and gauges. Do i need a bigger turbo, or is it a totally different problem altogether? Im goin crazy cuz no mechanics in my area are overly experienced with turbos and dont wanna fool with my car and the nearest mitsu. dealer is in Dover De which is about 80 miles away.

You will always need a bigger turbo. Anyways, if your plans inlude getting any real horsepower to keep up with and spank mustangs amongst others, you are gonna need a bigger turbo anyways, plus yours probably has a lot of miles on it anyways and after you crank up the boost to 15-17psi, it probably won't last too long anyways.

When i put my full turbo back exhaust on my car when it was running the stock turbo, i didn't have any problems at all, it actually ran better if anything.

I didn't see before that your car is non-dsm. What kind of car is it? This will differ a lot of things in your set up. boost pressure for example should be lower if u are on a integra or civic. What kind of set up are you running? Is your turbo/wastegate and your O2 housing ported, this will help with boost creep a lot. Do you have a flapper mod either another helper.

My car is a 98 gst i just havent changed my profile since i got the car. I know in order to incress my horsepower i need a bigger turbo but for the time being i just want the thing to actually run right. I dont understand why adding a turbo back exhaust has caused my car to more or less stop boosting altogether.

The setup on my car is bone stock other than the turbo back exhaust. I havent uped the boost myself or anything. I have a intake and boost controller on order but not here yet.

If you recently purchased the car. I would take it to a local auto zone and have them hook up their OBD II code reader to it and see if there are any fault codes. I know from experience, I used to sell cars at the auction that had engine lights on. I would just cut the wire to the light or pull the bulb.

I hate to say it, but i'm pretty sure your problem lies somewhere other than your exhaust, unless there is a rag or some abstruction inside the pipe that u didn't see prior to installing it and it's causing a blockage
