I have a 1990 gsx but my computer is fried but one of my friends have automatic ecu I want to know if it can work??

YES, another ECU from an auto 90 turbo car can run your car... Since you don't have any "go fast" mods listed then i'll assume you're running stock as of now.. If so, then your car will be fine. Just remember that the auto ECU's have fuel maps for slightly smaller injectors(390cc vs 450cc in the 5 speeds) and will make your car run a little more lean. That is better for gas mileage but if you try to race it on the highway you'll hurt the engine. So don't race it with the temp ECU!!!!

Also keep in mind that the ECU's from 91-94 DSM's were wired a little differently then the 90's so make sure what year your friends ECU is before installing it... There is a VAFQ link here http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ecu-harness-1G.html
This link will show you the slight difference between the 90's and 91-94's

Also if you are interested, I have a 90 AWD 5 speed ECU with new caps sitting in my garage right now. I bought it for my 91 auto before i knew about the wiring diff... I paid $120 for it in Sept., I'll sell it for $100 if you're interested...
