tranny whining

hey my mt just started to whine when im accelerating and decelerating. im suspcious of low trans fluid but where do i fill it up at and what does it take? i know most manuals take gears oil.

If you go underneath your car and are looking straight at the transmission from the FRONT of your car. To make sure you are oriented correctly, if you look to the right at your engine, you should see your turbocharger, etc. There will be a nut (it's fairly flat) about halfway up. I can't remember the size off-hand. It's possibly a 12mm or a 14mm. You're supposed to take that off and fill it up so you don't spill out of that hole.

This is from memory when I was reading my service manual and it should be right, but I welcome people correcting me if I'm wrong.
