clutch on floor, fluid on inside???slave?

well got into my car pressed down on the clutch, it went to the floor, got out of the car, checked the fluid, fluid was gone, filled it up, check again later, it was gone, i didnt know where it was going, finally found it was on the inside of the firewall, what is the problem and how can i fix it? and that is all the deatails

It is your clutch master cylinder. Buy a new one and replace it.

Replace the slave at the same time. These two components are notorious for going out one right after the other. Both components have seals in them that wear as a pair. When you replace just one you'll blow out the other one. Plus, you'll only have to bleed it this one time. I'm sure a quick search on Master cylinder/ Slave cylinder will back up what I'm suggesting.

again thanks, i will do just that, to get to get myself straight the master is by thte firewall and the slave is down on the tranny?

duh huh. Slave is the lowest part of the hydraulic side. There's another component half-way up the trans. You may want to research that too. Some replace it with just a stainless steel line.

just take a peak under the stering colum .. if you see fluid leaking along the pedal its the clutch master

like DOUG99RS said: while you are already replacing the master cylinder, u might as well throw in a SS Braided line since you're already workin on the clutch system. Plus the line is only like 20 bux.
