Ok I have 15psi but it doesnt really feel like much has changed. My car pulls great through the mid range but starts to die off in the upper rpm range. I thought this would improve with more boost but it doesnt seem to have. Is this what I should be expecting? I am running stock timing.

well the most obvious thing the me is ..

first --- did you take off your boost control selenoid ? if not then take it off the then you will really be hoding 15psi to redline

and secondly , if you car is mostly stock it will always feel more sluggish arounf the redline, maybe thats why most people go with cams so the move the power band up into the revs,

and what are your mods ? dpipe ?? exausht ?? i mean you need those basic mods to run 15psi effectivly

chek it out

You are probably pulling some serious timing on top end. I would invest into a pocketlogger so you can watch the timing and knock. According to your profile, you are pretty much stock except for an exhaust, MBC, and some suspension work. Have you opened up your air canister yet, possibly a K&N? If not you could be choking the motor at top end. If the intake mod w/K&N is done then maybe a fuel pump rewire needs to be done. Could be starving the motor. The pocketlogger is one of the best tuning tools for the 1Gs.

Good Luck,
Steve

I have opened up the filter box but not the MAF. I have a K&N filter. I guess I should get a pocketlogger. I was thinking of getting one of the cables off ebay and using free software you think this is a good idea? I noticed this with my stock boost setting too. It just seems like it doesnt continue to pull ..

i don't think you should get a pocketlogger *YET*... i think very highly of them but i do not think you need one with your mods

a fuel pump rewire would actually make it worse according to his butt dyno... your car is slower when its rich. i have heard a car will pull SOOOO hard right before you melt the pistons.

i recomend getting a larger turbo/open it up more. stock turbos were not made to flow as good at that high of an rpm at higher boost levels, but it can be made to if you open it up more... your power is going to die off in the top end if your car is remotely stock

how much of an exhaust do you have? brand? size? cat?

I have a 2.5" Buscher DP to a test pipe to a 2.5" mandrel bent cat back custom made no brand. I havent touched the o2 housing. I was kinda hoping to get as much as possible out of the stock turbo before I spent more money.
