Are we to play 20 questions and start guessing or do you suppose if you called the dealer they would need to know more... how is it any different here. We can't see, we don't find magic unwritten words which will help you unless YOU write them. Who what where why how bla bla bla.

Cheers,
GTM

Place a piece of clean cardboard under the engine & put some weights on it to keep it from movin, then look for the location where the oil drips on the cardboard & look straight up at the engine from that point. Keep in mind that the oil may have run sideways on another car part before dripping to the cardboard.
The usual culprits are....
valve cover gasket-replace
dump tube--the rubber hose from the valve cover to the intake--replace or make it fit tighter at the ends
turbo oil lines at the fittings--replace the crush washers
oil pan gasket or oil drain plug--replace
oil filter or filter gasket-replace.
For oil leaks found in the spark plug basin....
spark plug seals-replace
gasket on oil filler cap--replace
for oil leaking from the timing belt cover...
rubber cam-shaft seals-replace
oil pump bearing seals--replace

Speaking of luck, did you know that the word "mitsubishi", when translated to english means "worse case scenario". Oil leaks & many other problems often have their origin linked to "the last time the mechanic worked on the car". To save a buck, a lot of mechanics re-use gaskets & crush washers & save time by leaving off lock-washers.

Our poster is one of those "hit and run" types... presents a problem and then ducks out without a thank you. Looking at what else he's written that seems to be his style.

I don't know if this is just an off the cuff remark or if you are serious. As for what you describe above it may be the practice of an amature mechanic but not that of a professional. Saving a buck is a judgment call, when you work for a dealer all parts that go on a customer's car must be paid by the customer. If a copper crush washer has not been abused and there was no evidence of past leak then I'll reuse the item and SAVE the customer the money. No mechanic is going to introduce an oil leak for it's going to be back in his stall for free repair. Reusable gaskets especially those which must meet emmision standards receive the same inspection, over tightening, brittle, leaking, dirt collection, etc. When you finish your work, you have washed off the areas so it's clear where you worked. If the bolt had a washer then it went back together with a washer again for the same reason. Sloppy work is just that, sloppy work, as a consumer it is also your responsibility to know what you are paying for in a mechanic. When you pay for shade tree mechanic you can expect this but if you deal with a reputable shop chances are you won't find fly-by night mechanics. So while you may have had those experiences it is not what you will see from a professional. It's like calling all mechanics thieves when it's only a few who give the profession a bad name.

Cheers,
GTM

No disrepect intended, people who work on cars for a living are very special indeed. My comments are only meant to help inform as to what you are quite likely to find, & unless you bought your car new, you'll never know who screwed with what. Yes, I speak from experiences, too numerous to mention. Most recently, An "ace mechanic" left off the lock washers that go to all 4 bolts that mount the exhaust manny to the turbo house, which backed out in a few months as far as the heat shield would allow. What happened was the ace mechanic can't do all the work & many tasks are assigned to lesser talent.
On the flip side of the coin, most folks won't believe everything that their car really needs & don't have enough money to pay for it anyway.
They find it hard to believe that almost everything on the car is wearing everytime they drive the car, not to mention all the rubber parts that are rotting even if the car just sits.
btw, at your shop, do you reuse crush washers that go to turbo oil line banjo fittings?

Plug it.

If there's not more from the original poster regarding what may be leaking where, this wandering thread of meandering meaninglessness will be closed this evening. The humanity, the humanity.
