Help Quick 1G Timing Tool Stuck

Ok so I go and replace the water pump and timing belts. Theres that speical tool you screw into the timing cover to push down on the tensioner, well I got it all installed but the head broke off the tool so now Im stuck with a threaded bolt in the hole and can not get it out. Any ideas would be reallly helpful.

You might have to resort to drilling it out. By the way, where on earth did you find the tool?

Heh well its not exactly the tool I made my own tool with a 8mmx1.25 threaded rod and a couple nuts on the end but the welds on the nuts didnt hold. so that is how I got stuck, it goes in but wont come out.

-Will have to clean off the remainding weld off the thread or cut the end off, get 2 8x1.25 nuts, screw on to the thread, get 2 wrenches , tighten the 2 nut against each other tight, then put the wrench on the inner(lower) nut, the rod should come out.

Or slap some Vise-Grips on the effer.

yeah....just grab the part that is exposed near the tensioner and back it out with vise grips until you have enough out to grab from the outside with the vise grips...

Did the tool actually break, or just the welds?

If just the welds broke, put 2 nuts on there, tighten them together, or re-weld them.

This is why you need to make sure you do a good job tapping the rod, use lots of grease, and tighten a litle bit at a time.
