Idle probems

My car is idling around 1,500 RPM and each time I turn the steering wheel in either direction the RPMs drop close to normal. The previous owner told me he took the battery out for long periods at a time to work on the car and said the ecu just needed to get used to regular driving conditions. That was three weeks ago and it still idles around 1,500 RPM.
What could it be? and what can I do to fix it?

you think thats an idle problem? shit you should drive my car, you just need to adjust your idle set screw, vfaq.com buddy.

I already did it and its all the way in.

Do a pressure test. Check for leaks. It is possible that the shaft seals on your TB needs to be replaced. They are 14 years old. You will have a easier time diagnosing with a pressure test.
