well i changed all of my belts recently b/c of squeaks and shortly afterwards a new sound has started. its a vibrating sound in the upper pulley area it just like something wobbling up against something. checked all the pulleys for any play..all good. took off all belts and eliminated everything but the power steering pump/pulley. i just cant figure out if my ps pump is going out or if im in need of a new pulley...any help is appreciated:(

i know this is going to sound dumb but did you check the fluid level? mine was making noise like that when i was really low on fluid

well i added fluid yesterday just to be sure..and it hasnt gone away so i guess not

i think i am having the same problem, i checked my PS fluid and it's filled up so i dunno what it can be? When the car revs, high, you can hear it when it goes back to idle. then after a while of regular daily driving (4000 ans less) it goes back to a low sound that you can barely hear over the exhuast idling? any help appreciated :(

i am not sure man. Check the belt or add belt dressing to see if that works if not then it could be the pully it self on the pump going back.

i added belt dressing before, at first it made the sound louder then after a while it quited down then it came back. That is my underdrive pulley right? so if i get aftermarket pulleys wont that take the sound away, Please respond, thanks!

i believe i can help ya on that one. from what i've heard its better to keep the stock pulleys or just replace with OEM ones bc aftermarket pulleys arent 2 piece and dont react very well to our cars. some1 please correct me if i'm wrong

I have been having the same problem with my ps. It ended up being the tensioner on the pulley. If it is broke then you have to replace the whole entire pulley because the tensioners can't be bought by themselves.

when u changed the belts did you remeber to tighten all the bolts on the pump or did u forget 1 or 2? also did you loosen the bolt on the bracket and forget to tighten it but tightened all the bolts that went to the pump itself? if you did all of this right did you pull a hercules and use a bar to help tighten the belt instead of using the tensioner bolt? if you did use a bar then you probably bent the pully and it will need to be replaced
