I bought a pair of sylvania silver stars for my 90 talon. I got the right size according to the guy who looked it up on the computer. They are the H4666 ones. The size of the headlight is exactly the same and will fit fine, but heres the problem. There are 3 prongs on the back of the headlight that are supposed to plug into the wire adapter. The 3 prongs are in a differant pattern than the bulb that was in and differant from the adapter. The wire adapter and the old bulbs pattern was like this |_|
and the bulbs i just got have a pattern like this \ _| the one on the side is slanted instead of upright so it wont fit into the wire adapter. Im afraid to bend the prong but can i cut the wire adapter so the one side wont be connected anymore and i can fit it as needed?

Ive seen posts on the silver stars for my car and was wondering if anybody who baught them can tell me how they got theirs on their 90-91 dsm.

Hmmmm. My H466 Silverstars fit fine and the connector matched up with the prongs. The only thing I can think of is that the H4666 refers to the headlamp size. I'd go back to the parts dept at Pep Boys or any chain auto parts store and ask the parts guys if the connector pattern was ever changed for H4666 bulbs.

Aw, the bastards. See if they have a replacement plug at whatever parts shop. They do this crap to us just to make it hard on people without new cars. Otherwise, hit up Pick and Pull for a couple of plugs off something newer and wire them in. I don't know if they're making a sealed-beam Silver Star with the old style square-pattern plug.

-Is your car still has the seal beam or someone has upgrade it to a 'H4' type bulb? because that's what I did when I upgrade my but I don't remember the prongs of the connector.

I found out that they were upgraded to the H4 type bulb like you said. I exchanged the headlights for just the bulbs. Theyre alot better than what was in but I still want some more light for when i go out to the middle of no where to have fun. I think I'll get some bright fog lights to go along with them.

-H4 bulb do comes in various wattages, some are for off road only, stay away from those blue tinted bulbs, they are actually produce less useable light.
