I put my car up on some ramps today cause for the past week there have been spots on my driveway where i parked. I put it up on the ramps and looked at the tranny to see if there was a leak. There was. The whole area near the back of the trans, right next to the t-case, was splashed full of fluid. Its not a huge leak, but im guessing that it spread while I was driving.
It looks like its coming out of the seals on the green hub in the picture (not sure what the proper name is for it). I got this from another post here, but he had water damage to the car. I already pulled the filler cap to check for the level, and its fine.
Also, there is a ticking noise coming from the trans. Its not constant, but every 5-15 seconds, you can hear it, kind of like a small marble rattling.
Sorry about it being so long, but I really need some help on this. Thanks.

-Is the above photo from your car or from someone else? the green thing is the axel, there is a seal right where the axel enter the tranny, but if fluid is leaking from that axel in the photo, it should not wet the area on the left edge, best for you to do is use some degreaser to hose off the motor(when cold) and the tranny then drive around before fluid splatter all over the place, it is easier to find the leak that way.

No, thats not my car, but its the same place its leaking. I cleaned it off pretty good while on the ramps and noticed there was fluid starting to build up around the green thing.

-That's one of the axel, get a seal from the dealer and replace it, I have never work on a 2G before so I don't know what to tell you, but some how you pull the axel out, catch the tranny fluid, pry out the old seal with a screw driver, clean off that area, gentle tap the new seal in place with something soft in similiar diameter as the seal, wet the lip of the new seal with a thin coat of fluid, reinstall the axel. The reason I said get the new seal from the dealer is because I have had bad luck with generic seals, they don't seal right.
