Screwed up 90 subaru station wagon

ok its my girlfriends brothers car. hes all rollin down the highway notices smoke pulls over it was steam. so we tow the car here and i fill with coolant run a lil bit,

its a H4 engine and i know nothing about it but its smokeing from under the passanger side cylinder bank. soo all the hoses look good no visiable rad leakes. does anyone have any exp with these cars.

its a fairly new radior and on friday ill rip the fans off but i really dont want to have to replace a head gasket oh this pos,

I used to have a Subaru, they're great cars, but I'm not so good at diagnosing problems. Try hitting up http://www.ultimatesubaru.net or http://www.nasioc.com , there are some pretty smart ppl on those. One thing I can tell you about Scoobs is that they aren't really all that different, so the reason that car is smoking is probably no different than why any other car would smoke. Sorry I couldn't give any specific help. Mine was a 96 anyways.
