buzzin when brakes applied

k heres my problem, when i'm applyin the brakes i have a buzzin not squeakin sound. it happens even when i am sittin at a light and i have the brakes on. the brakes are still strong but the buzzin is annoyin. it doesn't seem like the buzzin is comin from the brakes themselves but its hard to tell really. if anyone has any ideas it would be appreciated thanks

Does your car have ABS... might be the pump unit, might be a booster.

You need to have someone press on the brakes while you search for the noise source.

i do have abs, where is the pump?? what is a booster??

Jam a stick between the front of your seat and the brake pedal so you hear the noise. Open the hood and listen. Put you hand on parts so you can feel if they are making noise. I don't know your car, look for a large aluminum casting with several brake lines attached. The booster is attached to your brake master cylr, usually black in color mounted on firewall and 8"-10" diameter x 5"-8" deep.

Driver's side fender on 2Gs. Look for the mess of steel lines.

what is a booster??

It's the big round black pancake can on the end of your master cylinder. Also check the hefty vacuum line running to it, and the check valve in that line.
