Carol Stream, IL,
ok whenever i drive over SMALL BUMPS only, i hear a clunking noise coming from passanger side rear. Ive replaced the strut mount and that wasn't it. I put stock shock back on and it wasn't the shock. Its really annoying and i can't figure out what it is.

Sounds are very hard to diagnose for they are so subjective... to one person they sound like this... to another they sound like that... they are coming from here, no here. It could be any of a number of things... exhaust pipe, control arm bushings, anti-sway bar bushings, wheel bearing.

You could try jacking up the left rear wheel on the suspension (use a block of wood to prevent damage) close to the wheel. Put a jack stand for safety but don't unweight the car on the stand. With the heel of your hand and your elbow bent hit the top of tire sidewall and listen for a clunk much like the sound you hear. You can grab the top and bottom of the tire and try to push and pull to see if there is any play in the bearing. There should be none.

If those fail remove the wheel and inspect for worn bushings in the above mentioned parts. May take a pry bar in key locations to see if anything moves or any bolts are loose.

Look for broken exhaust hangers.

Let us know what you find or don't find.

Cheers,
GTM

well i think it might be bushings, because whenever i run over like a pot hole or something the rear sways to one side
