Yes, I've read through the dozens of posts about car hesitation/bucking/sputtering. I have a 92 GSX (stock, yes that means stock unless you count a K&N filter, I don't). I have brand new Bosch plug wires on the car because the #4 cylinder old wire was arcing badly according to the scoping analyzer (and the white on the wire). My car bucks back&forth between 2800-3200 rpms during acceleration. I realize our cars dislike Bosch (wasn't my decision at the time) so I'm going to swap those wires for some Accels or Magnecores, as well as new spark plugs (NGK BPR7ES or Iridium IX, not sure which). However, if my problem persists, the next logical step is to check the ignition coils? How is that accomplished and what should I be looking for?

After further research, I came across the notion that Accel wires are universal, not pre-cut, and don't come with endcaps? Is this true?

I had big problems with my car.I installed ngk iridiums..yeah know lots of guys say not to run them. And got accel wires. They fit car perfect and were listed for the specific car.The boots are right at the valve cover end and fit fine a the coilpacks.

My car was missing and screwing up at wot and then thr the range.
I just put in some new coilpacks today..problem solved.I had some guys supposedly test the coils and say they were good. They weren't apparently. And zero problems with my iridiums.

I've learned so much about the spark plugs and wires it would make ya sick. Don't sweat your iridium's, they're gonna workout just fine, but I got the basic NGK BPR6ES's after seeing Trev and Defiant's posts about them. Picked up some dielectric grease and ordered a set of Accel 7920R's from summitracing.com for about 40 bucks. I'm excited, can't wait to throw it all together. I really really really hope my coils are good. Sooooo expensive for those freaking things.

I found a site that sells the oem coils for 165 bucks US.
I got mine up here in canada for 214 canadian plus taxes but really had to shop around and mine are not oem. Oh well. They are working so don't care.A lot of places were quoting double the price I paid so you really need to shop around.I think because they are so stupidly expensive that is why a lot of people don't bother to change them out.

That website is offering a OEM Ignition Coil Pack for $179.00. But 2 are required, you can't just replace one. So that's $358.00. Autozone sells a Beck/Arnley pack for $149.00 each (2 required). What do u think? The $179.00 is only for one from dsmparts, right?

It would seem they are offering and coil pack.meaning two..not just a single coil. And pretty sure the price was 165 US a few days ago.
I bought a coilpack which has two coils on the bracket prewired up for 214 canadian plus taxes.about 250 canadian would be about 175 US same as the one in the dsm com site.

I was quoted way higher from several places. Also I didn't get an oem coilpack it was aftermarket..neihoff or some other make..but it seems to work fine.

my car was having a similar problem. i checked the coil pack and transistor one night when it was pitch black out and everything seemed fine. i then had it checked and they said it was arching. i didnt believe it so i checked again another night. i had to look at the coil pack from EVERY ANGLE and even stares for several seconds before i noticed a very very very very faint flash. i had missed it before it was so small! i would check very carefully again. good luck!
