Full-throttle black smoke -GST

i just bought a 97 gst and , i have a little problem , when i hit the gas all the way it blow black smoke from the muffler i dont know anything about cars but i wanna learn please help me , i saw a some treads that say that black smoke is oil or rich something but i dont know what that is Please help . thanks

Next time please be more descriptive in your title.
most will avoid a non informative title.

as for your problem, my car is similiar, when i mash it, it blows some back smoke, because I am running rich, I also notice slightly less fuel economy as most people here. also, my base timing is a few degrees off.

from your post it seems you do not have much expierence, i would advise going to autozone and picking up a copy of the hayes manual for your model year.

there is a section like "my car blows black smoke when i mash it, why?
and it shows alist of things to check out.

its a definate must have.
