I was wondering if anyone knows why my ABS light is on in the dash, its been that way for months, as long as ive had the car. The brakes work fine, no complaints. So does anyone have any idea why that light is on? does it have anything to do with my speedo not working?

The ABS has speed sensors on each wheel.
mabye one of those is not working.
or the fluid is low!

I'm sure you noticed there's no voltmeter in your dash--mitsu figured out they could save a buck & just use your ABS warning light to tell you that your alternater is not charging the battery properly, although in your case, it doesn't seem like you could drive the car for several months if the battery was not charging. I would have the alt ouput checked to be sure--a lot of parts stores do this for free.
I believe I recall that the ABS warning light also comes on normally for a few seconds when you first start the car, until vacuum presurre builds up, if so, you might have a vacuum leak somewhere. Mitsu likes to put a lot of rubber hoses on everything & the hoses seem to go bad where they are stretched over the nipple fittings, especially if your car is over 10 years old.

On the other hand, your speedo not working is a big clue, fix that & I bet your ABS light goes off. The speed sensors on each wheel measures & compares rpms of each wheel & compares this to your speed to control your brakes. (for example, 1 wheel is locked up & starts to skid, it inhibits in pulses the brakes to that wheel so it can spin & get traction) It sounds like you might have a sensor not working, either for the speedo or ABS.

-There're 4 speed sensors, one on/by each brake rotor, also there's a g force sensor (for 1G), it's under the middle seat belt latch below the rear bench seat, (again this for a 1G), any one of this sensor is bad/unplug, it's will trip the ABS light.
