Hey guys,
Long time no post- but lets get to the point.
Sunday I began to feel a vibration on the steering wheel while driving, similiar to a wheel bearing vibration or misalignment. I came to a stop sign (in the middle of a blizzard, SNOW everywhere) and got stuck. At this point I realized I had lost FWD. Only my rears were spinning. I got out of the car, and to my horror, found 5 bearings in the snow next to the drivers side front wheel, along with some chunks of metal/ grease which resembled a casing of some sort.
Lol, i know this is bad. So i have several questions. Relevant info: This car has had a torn CV boot for several months, and yes it had been clicking for about a month.
1) Can I drive the car for several days (OUT of boost, RWD only) until the weekend arrives?
2) Im assuming that the CV joint is destroyed. I haven't looked at it on the lift yet, however. Could I have some tranny damage? I drove it home that night about 1/4 mile to my friends house. Its been there since.
3) Or could this just be a wheel-bearing issue? Pardon my ignorance ye wisemen.
Thank you for your input!
Joe
