Will a heavier clutch make the crank walk faster? i put 2600lb act clutch in my 2nd gen eclipse awd-150 miles later the crank started knocking- me and my dad loosened the slave cylinder the knocking stopped -positioned it again, the knocking started right away. from that point we realized it was the clutch. if i would of left stock clutch in would it have lasted longer? I talked to Act and they dont agree with it. By the way engine was totally rebuilt eagle rods, ross pistons, eliminated balance shafts, new front cover , all new rod and main bearings.

how does a crank knock... And how do you reposition the slave cylinder..
There is only one spot that the slave cylinder goes.. Bolted to the transmission, where the two bolts mate.

And why do you jump to the conclusion of crankwalk..? Messing with the clutch, and it going away, it sounds like you have throwout bearing chatter or something of the sorts..

There are theories floating around that the 2600 and higher clutches can aggravate wear of your thrust bearings. YMMV
