hey guys.

i just got my 97 GST tonight and obviously wanted to drive it. I drove it around for an hour or so... and then i picked up a friend. of course i wanted to show off a bit, so i gunned it coming out of a parking lot. i think i hit ice or something and the tach flew to around 8000. I let off and the tach kept going, all the way to 2000. Yes, it spun all the way around. Anyways, as soon as i let off I knew something was wrong. I pulled into the next road and the car died on me as soon as I pulled in. I was able to turn the car back on and listen to the engine. There is a clicking/knocking sound coming from the passenger side of the bay... kinda between the MAS and the engine. It sounds like its coming from the bottom of the engine. I disconnected the battery hoping that it might have just messed up a sensor and needed to be reset. I turned the car back on and the tach stayed at zero. I gave it a little gas and it jumped to 6000rpm. I held it steady where it would be around 2,000 and it went to zero, 4000, 7000, 2500,5000, and then i let off. I never moved my foot- the tach just freaked out. Anyway, the car wont start now. It just chugs like the batterys dead... but its not bacause I tried jumping it too and it still did that.

Anyway, I tried putting it in gear and as soon as I let go of the clutch it stalls.

What the hell is happening to my car. Im hoping I might have thrown a belt (its too dark to see now) but Im fearing the worst. I had GS for a year and a half and never had a problem. Had this damn thing for 2 hours and Ive had it towed already.

Someone help!!!

Check your power transistor to see if it came unplugged a little. That will cause your exact symptoms...except for the noise part...
