What exactly are symptoms if the timing belt breaks or slips..if it breaks engine stops dead with bent valves and stuff right. If it slips or something can it bend valves and will the car still run.Mine starts perfect, idles perfect, runs fine thru the range to redline until you step on it then makes a sort of machine gun sound and doesn't seem to go fast at all.I back it down right away when floor it the noise is not pleasant.

No guys here are saying well think you have bent valves..but vac is steady as rock, didn't compression test engine yet but will shortly.
Dont bent valves give any other symptoms.I can see power loss but thought the engine would run rough all the time.Is steady vacuum not a reliable test for this.?

My car has not knocks or ticks,no check engine lights..nothing.
Idles nice but floor it and the machine gun starts. And its not detonation.
have 92 octane in there stock boost car is stock except for silencer no mods on it at all yet.

Timing? Fuel filter? Fuel pump?
When my head gasket started to go, I replaced my fuel filter, thinking it was starving for fuel. Then the head went (previous owner had it machined twice and it was still warped). After completing the hg swap this october, I drove it home and found the fuel pump had left me as well. I had very similar symptoms. Do a compression test.:thumb:

i dont know much but i do know its not bent valves...i just got my bent valves fixed a week ago and the car wouldnt run at all..so yours cant be bent valves which is a good thing (lucky you)

If you THINK you bent a valve, you REALLY need to run a compression test. Don't come here going "what if"...

If you SUSPECT, then test it to find out. THEN come here with what you found.

When you bend a valve, your car will generally run very poorly, if at all...
