MAF/MAS Help!!

1G MAF/MAS previous owner took the top screen/honeycomb out of the metering tube.(Moron) And the bottom honeycomb isn't there, it's just a hole. It runs pig rich all the time, I think the air is rushing by too fast, is there anything I can do to mod the metering tube like screen from a hardware store. Running that rich cannot be good for my car. Let me know. Thanks.

try going to a junk yard to find an airmeter. I don't know if they will sell just the honeycombs....
