dont know if this is a problem or not????

well i start off with what i was looking for. I was looking for any signs of remote door locks for my eagle. Does any one know where to look for that?? Any ways i was looking under the dash on the driver side, and found a red wire, It goes up into the right side (if your laying down looking up into the stearing colum) and runs threw some harness, not like factor, like it was put there to hold it up, runs across and down behind the center consol, then up under and dissapears behind the glove box. I have no idea what this is, and should i take it to the dealer and have them check it out???

You can take it to the dealer for the red wire identification, they may or may not charge you.

The "remoted door locks" is sometimes a misnomer for some future planned expansion that may not have taken place or was for an aftermarket item carried by the dealer for it could tie into an advanced alarm system.

Is there some reason you have not looked for aftermarket remote door lock accessories? If you have electric selonoid actuators it's not a complex job to install. You just need a + source, into a relay/receiver which may limit feedback, and the keychain sender.

Your car was built with "remote locks", which is part of the security system. If you didn't get a remote control for them, hit up eBay for one (or two) of these:

(The difference being the Talon remote came with no Panic button, although it's on the pc board inside, just no button. Same part as the Eclipse unit.)

When you're done with all that, get an owner's manual off eBay as well.

I have no guess what red wire you're looking at. But now that you've found it, finish tracing it out. The control brain for the remotes is in the left rear seat side trim, under the same plastic piece that has the speaker trim in it:

Although the programming switch is supposed to be on the control module as explained, I've yet to run across anyone who has found it there. I've not had to look for mine.

Man, you been holding out on me.

I saw the circuit in the diagram when my son first got the manual, went looking and never found anything. I then did a search of the internet and never found anything there either. I did find the aftermarket alarm systems which also operated the locks. But no mention of a seperate remote except a spare for their propietary equipment at $30-$70 each.

Where's the receiver usually placed??

thanks, i will be calling the dealer today, to ask about the "RED WIRE" as for the keyless entry, i thought that it had it, Know i will be looking and i did a search on the web and found this placewww.keylessride.com they gave me an address to a lock smith down in Shamokin pa. Will be giving them a call also. thanks for the input, keep it coming.
