driverside door wont lock

My driverside door wont lock completely it looks like its locked but really isnt and i have a keyless entry and it wont lock with that either i was wondering if it was an actuator and if it is, how much do they cost.Any suggestions would help.

Crap. There used to be a link for this, but it seems conspicuous in its absence.

Most likely the actuator has come loose; pull the door trim panel and nose around in there. Sorry I can't find the site or give decent instructions. It still tries to lock with the keyless, right? Do you still hear the clunk?

Pull your door panel and make sure everything is snug. I had a servo or something in there floating around, and it would give me the same problem.

yes it still tries to lock the the keyless entry and i still hear the clunk and what not. But it just wont lock all the way. My friend said that it might be the actuator gone bad.

I had the same problem, and I fixed it for the most part. Take off the interior door panel and there should be a sheet of plastic there. You can see the metal lock mechanism there too. What happened on mine the glue they used to hold on the plastic dripped down into part of the lock mechanism and that stopped it from working. Clean it off and it should be good. Mine still doesnt work sometimes on really hot days, I think its because I might not have got all of the glue off the lock mechanism.
