As of late I've noticed a weird noise while making a right turn, the faster I'm going the less I have to be turning to hear this noise. The noise is coming from the rear of the car, and sounds like a rubbing noise. Not metal on metal, not grinding, but a rubbing sound. I've checked for tire rub and the u-joints on the driveshaft; both are good. Someone mentioned that the engine-mount-looking things around the driveshaft are called carrier bearings and they can make the sound I'm hearing when they go bad.
Basically, all I'm asking is if it's possible a bad rear carrier bearing could cause this noise and if it is, should I replace both (I believe there's one for the front and the rear of the driveshaft...someone correct me if I'm wrong)?

My brakes are being pretty loud as of late. The thing is, the only rotor that needed turned when I did my brakes about 2 months ago was done. I have brand new pads on all four corners. The passenger rear rotor was warped because only the outside pad had been worn down, it was very strange. I havent' checked them yet, because I didn't think a break pad/rotor/caliper could cause this noise. Can you explain how it would cause this noise?

That sounds EXACTLY like a stuck rear Caliper - you can actually take out your clutch over time in an AWD with that problem.

To Answer your question - The poor freaking rotor is being endlessly squeezed by your stuck caliper - hence the warp - when you turn a little "unloading" occurs - the weird pad wear is the clue - Get to work - The rear Caliper Pistons are a little weird - you have to screw them out due to the Emergency Brake system - a threaded deal that threads into the Piston from the rear of the caliper. There's got to be a VFAQ somewhere... There are also 2 different size calipers for our cars so take your VIN with you & you still may make 2 trips for parts - I did - Good Luck!
