Ive been hearing a humping noise coming from my wheels. I though at first it tread noise on the road but then I noticed it wnet away when I turned left only. I talked to some people and they said it was the driver side wheel bearing. Is this correct? And is this easy to replace because I know some of them have to pressed in and some dont. can u guys help. :confused:
 
Humping noise sounds like a seperated Radial Tire to me... you'll be glad if that's it - trust me.

IF IT IS A BEARING don't be surprised if it's the passenger side bearing - I swear one of my other cars quit squeeking when you swerved right 2 months ago & it was the passenger wheel bearing - Might as well plan on doing both (I did) - Big job - braking those nuts on the CV Shaft is no picnic & it's 50/50 the CV Shaft doesn't survive anyway... heat & an Impact are handy. Good time to look at the shaft to trans seals - center bearing & seals - front struts - even the front brake wheel cylinders if you haven't already been thru them - You will have it all torn down to parade rest anyway... just bite the bullet & research before you dig in.
 
When the guts of a radial tear up - it seperates & goes wump-wump. Obviously you have something other than that - CV joint or wheel bearing is a good guess - Good Luck.
 
if you hear a humming noise when you turn left then it is going to be your right wheel bearing that is bad because most of the weight is shifted to the right side of the car when turning left.
 
yeah i would def say its a wheel hub assembly thats the same thing mine was doing but doing it if you turned right or drove straight it kept going and turned left it went away so i would say that which way you turn and it goes away is that side cause it has more pressure on it but yeah i just changed mine and thats what it was but you will need some good stuff to get the axle nut off that baby is on there good and you will need a puller to seperate the wheel hub assemble and the axle you might have to take the knuckle off and press it out good luck :thumb:

I didn't find them that hard to get off. I just put a breaker bar on the socket, then stood on it and bounced up and down. They came right off.
 
I'm glad that fixed it for you but your scenario is not always the case - sometimes "unloading" the bad wheel bearing makes it quiet too - I shouldn't have said what I said - I shoulda just pointed out that it works the opposite of that sometimes too - Sorry, Buck
