i recently hydrolocked my engine however i have it runing after sucking out all the water and changing all the fluids, a shop did this for me without me knowing, not a big deal but it just sorta ticks me off cause all i wanted them to do was look at it and give me a quote for incurance. So the problem is after driving it lightly for one weekend to help get water and out and such ive ran into sum other prollems. I have a check engine light, horrid gas millage, clutch makes a screeming sound and my tranny is leaking, or i think its my transmission but its a really bad leak.

I sorta think the check engine light and bad gas millage is because my dad put octane booster, the outlaw brand or sumthing, in my car without asking me and that its messed up my O2 sensor, but im not sure. But i have no idea whats up with the clutch sounds or why the tranny is leaking, my friend said i have water in my throwout bearing and thats why its making the sounds or sumthing i dont really know, it dosnt seem to be coming from the drain plug though so i have no idea where its coming from really however its really wet down there and its all over the bottom of my tranny and seems to be coming out all the time ,runing or not runing, and it seems to be a fairly bad leak....

anyone have any ideas on what to do? or what might be wrong? ill try and get sum picks up soon

i almost forgot that it also idles bad, the rpms go up and down like it wants 2 die on me or sumthing but when im driving it it seems okay

you can see how its all wet under that tranny, i circled the drips in red

i circled in blue where i think the leak is coming from, i guess thats where the front right axle meats the tranny, it seems to be driping out of there and slingin it around when its moving ( that was before i noticed the leak, i dont drive it now)

this is right above the axle, you can see a spot on the left where the fluid seems to have been thrown and right above the axle you can see the same thing.....i dont really know but it seems to me that its leaking out from where the axle meats the tranny, but thats just my guess....can sumone please give me a educated guess as to where they think the leak is coming from? i would really appriciate it:)

Sure, lots of guesses. Lets deal with what makes the most sense. The oil looks cloudy like it has water in suspension. Drain, flush, and refil with fresh oil. If you pull the fill plug first and fluid comes out chances are you have water in the oil and it should be changed ASAP.

You could have it done to show it's damage from the original problem. You will have to sort this out as to how much they may raise your insurance rates if you file a claim.

Take it to DIY car wash and clean all those oil stains away so you can see if it's going to continue to leak.

It also sounds like the T/O bearing had been damaged from the water, this requires removing the tranny.

How deep was the water and for how long?

Cheers,
GTM

the water was up 2 my knees, like a foot and a 1/2 or 2 feet, it was in there for like 20-30 min, i didnt have my phone and i had to run to my friends house so he could get his truck and pull it out. i didnt see water at the bottom of this hill so i slammed into it going fairly fast and i hydrolocked it up. it sat at my friends house for a few days we tryed to crank it over and shoot the water out, still wouldnt start. Hauled it to a shop they sucked a bunch of water out the engine and they changed all my fluids for me, but i dont think they did very good work, i got it home a few days later, drove it lightly for the weekend to get things dry and i noticed the leak and i put it on ramps and its been on the ramps in the my garage since then, and its still leakin, like right now at this very moment its driping and it has been for like a week and a half non stop

ill go see if its 2 full right now

okay checked it, its not over, its prolly low cause its been leaking so much
the shop i took it to should have already drained, flushed and refiled it for me, they changed all my fluids.

Dosen't mean they did the tranny. Did you ask them about it? Also after sparying it pay attention, not sure if you know butit could leak at the rear and airflow under the car could carry the oil to the front making it look like its leaking from the front. When you spray it off spend a couple dollars on it. Get AS MUCH of it cleaned off as possible.
Check with the shop though and see if they replaced the tranny oil.
Good luck

My comments were based on your pictures, the oil looks cloudy to me. Try this, get a drop on a junk teaspoon, carefully heat and see if water boils out before it smokes. Be careful, might pop in your face just like bacon in a hot frying pan. If you are convinced there is water in the tranny oil drain and fill with fresh or have them do it again. Some of the picts showed what might be old oil stains. Some could have been air washed into other locations.

You could have extensive damage that warrants calling your ins. carrier if you have comprehensive coverage which includes this. Don't say you were driving too fast. You were in danger for worse weather and were doing what you though was right. You could have $500-$2000 in damage just hard to say. At some point you are going to have to confront either the shop or the insurance. Your radiator may show where the high water mark was for leaves or dirt can be trapped in the fins.

Did the carpet get flooded? You have electrical connections which could become damaged x months from now. So it's not just what you see today, you have some tough questions / decisions to make. It's possible the insurance will total the car and designate it as salvage in your state. I don't know how much more I/we can help without input from competent mechanics who are familiar with this situation.

Cheers,
GTM
