a/f ratio gauge

i hooked up my a/f ratio gauge and it seems to read very rich whenever i'm on the gas, and very lean at idle... when i vent into the air it goes stoich, then lean, then back to rich when i put the gas pedal down.

is this how its supposed to be? shouldn't i be leaning out as i wind out the gear?

i wired the a/f gauge the way i was told, and hooked up the sensor wire to the yellow/red wire found on one of the ECU plugs..

does anybody know if this is the right wire or is something else wrong...

my apexi tt reads 10.00 during driving and 14.8 while idle

This is normal......... Foot on the floor you want more fuel (rich) foot off the gas, the guage can not read a lower setting than when the gas peddle is fully released (Lean).

with mine if im goign at a constant speed constant throttle, my a/f goes to a slighty rich then lean all the way and reapeats the process over and over changes only when a diff amount of gas is applyd
