Recently after my tranny install i got a CEL. I used my chiltons and figured i could use a ohms meter to read the code. Well this is what I get beep beep beeeep beeeep beep beeeep beeeep beep beeeep beeeep or __ __ ____ ____ __ ____ ____ __ ____ ____ __ ____ ____

After looking through the chiltons manual; I am led to believe its the coolant temp sensor but am unsure, If someone can help me out please let me know thanks Mike

Ok I checked out my Hayes book and all the codes I see start with long then short codes..ie..this is what mine shows for engine coolant sensor...Two slow sweeps pause then one short sweep. This is showing the same for 2.0 and 1.8.. Im not sure which you are. Maybe try to get a code again. It also maybe giving you two codes..Keep in mind it always starts with a slow sweep. then pauses then slow sweeps.;)

Problem Solved

After buying a new Coolant Temp Sensor from Autozone for $27 plugged it in and started her up, same thing still acting crappy. So I looked at the plug very closely, then the green wire broke off from the plug and the hole plug pulled out of the harness OMG. Opened up the harness yellow wire was cut about 8 inches back so I soldered on 2 new wires and new clips and hooked it all up. Started her up runs perfect. Other than the idle being high, started up and stuck on 1500 then turned the idle screw all the way in and its stuck at 1000, so whenever i get back to work monday ima take her for a spin and get that adjusted right. Also on a side note my A/F gauge doesnt seem to being showing any bars at idle anymore no fluctuation nothing. I guess I'll look into that when I am driving it again monday. Thanks for helping to confirm the coolant sensor girlieracr4g63. Peace
