2G wont rev up past 3k

I have a 95 Mitsubishi GSX and I was driving one day and my car died. I got it home and now the dam thing wont rev up past 3k and there is massive amounts of black smoke coming out of the exhaust that smells like gas. Someone please help!!

Check: Plugs, wires, o2 sensor, turbo for blown seals, you may have skipped a tooth, clogged air filter, or your coil pack may be bad.

sounds like your cat may be clogged, i had a car do the same thing and that was the problem.
