boosting too much, with stock system...help

Ok my mods are in my profile, the problem is Im boosting 17 psi sometimes more sometimes less. Ok summary I boost anywhere from 15-18 psi and I still have the stock vacuum/boost set up as stock minus free mods. With this same set up before I bought a mbc I was boosting steady 13 psi(mbc was taken off after I was boostin 20 spi and hitting fuel cut, and is not installed anymore). Can anyone tell me what is up with this ? Is it normal or do I have a problem? thanks for your help

Did the problem occur after you took off the boost controller? Is everything reconnected properly? Make sure ( I'm sure you allready did) that there is not a problem with leakage from the line going to the wastegate actator. MAke sure that your waste gate is working properly by disconnecting the actuator bar and opening and closing it. I can't think of anything else.

Thanks , yeah I already checked everything...but I did again just to make sure. Im sure is my waste gate cause that would be the only other thing other than cracked or open exhaust (which I also cheacked for a long time ago. Thanks again...I guess I can deal with it til next seaon when I hopefully get a b16g
