Idle Problem (help please!)

Hey I have a problem with my car after it is already warm.... After driving around alot and flooring it everywere i go if i decide to shift to park the idle goes up to around 4000.... this is a major problem. If i shut the car off for 20-30 seconds the idle goes down to about 2000-2500. and of course if i let it sit its fine the next stratup. The pedal isnt sticking and i dont know how to check the ISC (Idle Speed Control) So now what? I am thinking of covering the throttrle botty in wd-40 and maybe there was a spot were it stuck or something. Can some1 help or have they had this problem before?
