Well I took the car for a spin today to get some antifreeze, had to put some antifreeze in to replace the straight water I was running due to winter coming, and not even 3 miles up the road the car throws an engine code and the car was acting like it had no power and somewhat of a rev limter effect at 4k in 3rd gear with the throttle somewhat down. My EGT's were about 1300 F hitting 1400 F a few times between gears, if that matters. Mind you I was not getting on it with it being a new motor and all.
I had my palm pilot with data logger but no batteries so I could'nt check the code. The car has been running funny since the new motor, I assume its due to not being tuned yet. I have maybe 30 miles total on the new motor. My question is it possible that if the timing is off the car would act funny like that? The car acts like a terd and has no power when I press on the gas, its been doing that since I put the new motor in. Boost does build but not enough to notice any effect. Again, my car is not tuned but I should have some power just putting around. I have plans to grab a timing light and some batteries to check my engine light. I'm sure that will shed some light I was just looking for some input on how the car is reacting.
My fuel pressure is 42 PSI at the regulator during idle, I am running stock boost with stock injectors and my AFC set at zero on hi and low, I wanted to get the car running good on stock injectors before I added the bigger injectors so thats why I am running zeros on the AFC, all of my vacuum lines are good and my intercooler piping couplings are nice and tight through the whole system. Any insight?
Thanks!
