Ticking from Evap solenoid

[R-U-QUIKR]

I have a very annoying tick that comes from the solenoid in the middle drivers side on the fire wall. I believe it is called the evaporation solenoid, anyways can I remove it without pulling a CEL. Has anyone else had this Problem. Ideas?

Its clicking because its supposed to. If you pull it you will get a code.

Mine ticks too. I have a 95 GST and I hate that noise. BTW, why does it tick? What is it's purpose? It makes my car sound like it has lifter noise or something. When i first bought my car, I was scared as hell cuz I thought I might have had a slight case of CW.

Its an emmisions peice. The clicking is the opening and closing of the solenoid. I pulled all that crap off of my firewall, but keep in my they will throw CEL codes but won't hurt engine operation in any way.
