I have a FWD turbo. I ordered the Evo III O2 housing ported from SBR, received it, and now I have recently read that the angle is slightly different where the downpipe bolts up to it. I am reading that it will just put extra stress on the flex section of the DP, but it can be done, and other are saying it can't be done. Then the guy that did say it could be done, had an AWD and said he didn't know about the FWD cars. Is this a problem for me, can I do my install? I don't want to get my car torn apart and then try to put it back together only to find I can't bolt my damn exhaust up to it. Is there any way to take a 2 1/2 " flange and grind it at the angle needed to get it to bolt up perfect, an adapter kind of in between the O2 and the DP? Does anyone out there offer it, or fabricate it for sale?

Thanks guys, any help, or ideas u can think of to fix this, please post replies.

I have not yet seen an adapter that just "bolts on" and you also would need gaskets for it. I am sure it can be mounted but as you say the stress on the flex might be too much and it will fail wich is unecessery really.
I would change it all when you have a day to spare and just reweld the flange on the DP to fit.

i would personally just bolt it up and see how off the angle really is. if its that bad, bolt it all up, take it to an exhaust shop and explain what you need done and they will cut and reweld the flange at the proper angle for probably $100-200. an install "kit" wouldnt work because it would space the downpipe down more which will also change the angle and put more stress on the flex section. i wouldnt worry about it. if you can get the bolts to line up and get it not to leak, then there isnt enough stress onto the downpipe to worry about it. the flex section was made to flew, so keeping it flexed 1/4" might make it stress and wear out 5k mile sooner, but if its gonna last 60-100k, who cares?
